Flood Situation

FROM FIRE DEPARTMENT – This morning (May 2nd), at approximately 9AM, the bus will resume transporting residents from the Portobello Drive area to the Ramada Fredericton. The bus will travel between the two following points: Ramada Fredericton and the intersection of Pasture Court and Portobello Drive.Residents will also be picked up along the direct route between the two pickup points, but the bus does not extend service beyond these two points. JPS may or may not permit residents to cross Carmen Creek at night and in day tomorrow. This roadblock is operated by the Fredericton EOC. Qs regarding permission to pass this roadblock can be directed to Fredericton at River Watch: 460-2020.The bus will return at 4/4:30pm to return people.

FROM PASTOR NEVILLE – We have multiple pumps running at both the church and parsonage. Water levels at both places were at one point higher than last year inside our buildings. CBC radio reported this morning that the level in Maugerville was at 7.1m. If so, that’s near or a tie of the 1973 flood – the 2nd highest level recorded in our community. The online forecast model anticipates the water level to rise Saturday and Sunday due to additional rainfall. Some of us took the bus into town yesterday.
